Growing...

Nearly every night after dinner I lay out flat on the floor in the living room. It feels amazing on my already sore back (um, what are months 6,7 & 8 going to feel like?!?!) and while I'm there, allowing my back and hips to find their way back to normal through a series of wonderful pops, I place my hands on my lower abdomen and try to feel my uterus. Sometimes it is really easy, most of the time really, but others it takes a little more effort. With each day it seems to grow some and be easier to find. It is such a weird feeling to feel it from the outside and as a result feel it from the inside. Oh, how I can't wait to feel kicks and barrel rolls from these babes!

Anyway, as I was laying there last night I looked at the hubs as I asked 'does it look like it is growing?' he turned with big eyes and replied with a 'YES!' Let's get one thing straight, I had some 'fluff' of my own going into this pregnancy- and I've always wondered if I'd really be able to tell when I was showing in the super early stages because it might be masked by the belly I already had. Apparently, it is obvious... at least while I'm laying flat on my back. I'll take it for now :)

I guess those maternity pants (that still haven't arrived) weren't as unnecessary as I thought. I have a feeling I'll actually be needing them, rather than just wanting them very soon.

I hope you have as comfortable of a twin pregnancy as you can! The aches and pains might get to you sometimes, but we all know they are totally worth it in the end. Recruit your hubby now for some back rubs! :)

I struggled with infertility (not to the point of receiving IVF or IUI but only b/c the husband wasn't willing yet before I got pregnant the first time). Still, it took a LONG time to get pregnant with my first daughter and even longer with the one that is soon to arrive in the next month. that is not really relevant to what I am about to say except that I understand partially what you went through to get these babies and I'm so happy for you, REALLY! Anyway, when I got pregnant with baby #1 I was 200 pounds and I'm only 5'3. I was in maternity clothes from 10 weeks on. My uterus got HUGE so fast! If you go to my blog, you can see my 13 weeks picture with this baby, I was HUGE! I haven't gotten a TON bigger since then but some women just show faster and I'm sure with twins it's even faster! Enjoy it. It's so fun to not have to worry about what you look like when you are pregnant! I love that I can walk around showing off this ENORMOUS belly and not even care. :)

It's funny how women carry their pregnancies so differently. Some show right away, some take forever, etc. I apparently have a retroverted uterus and keep getting told I won't be showing until well into my 5th month! Sigh. I want to see my damn bump already! I'm sure with the twinsies too everything is exacerbated and you'll be showing much earlier than most of us.

My back has been killing me too. I just attributed it to the back pain I have had since a stress fracture in high school but I guess it's baby! Last night I noticed how my little belly can now shift when i lay on my back and then roll onto my side. It's crazy, isn't it? When are you going to start posting belly pics? =)

I have a belly already before getting pregnant and I am worried I won't look pregnant for a long time.

That is so cool how you can feel it. I can't wait to be pregnant and feel all that!
