Today's The Day...

This afternoon we are doing it.

We are finally sharing our struggle with our parents. We decided that sending an email would be the best way for us to tell them everything we wanted to say to them without turning into an emotional mess or being bombarded with questions right away.

We are SO ready to be done with this secret keeping. It is too hard. We're tired of pretending that life is grand. We're tired of coming to family gatherings prepared with responses to baby questions. We're tired. We're broken. And most of all, we're tired of smiling about it.

So there you have it. After tonight, we will be out of the infertility closet to our parents. I'm sure after I push send on that email I will be neurotically refreshing my email for the rest of the evening to see what they have to say about our 2.5 year secret. Please, please pray that this goes well!

You have my thoughts and prayers. I hope they are loving, supportive, and sensitive.

Hopefully it will go very well. We hid everything for a long time too and when we finally knew we would have to seek fertility treatments, we told our parents. They were very understanding and supportive and amazed at what all we had to endure. I didn't mind the questions because it actually made them understand more what all we had going on. Plus believe me, it feels great to know you have extra prayer warriors in your corner! :)

I think this is a great decision and you will be happier in the end. AT first we decided not to tell anyone either, but as months and months went on it got harder and harder to keep it from everyone and never talk about a huge part of our life. I don't think they ever truly understand the full pain and emotions we deal with going through it but its nice to know the support you and are cheering you on. Best of luck!! I can't wait to hear how it goes.

I hope things go well for you. We haven't shared our struggle with anyone yet either, but I think we probably will soon since we'll likely be moving forward with some type of treatments.

I hope that all goes well and that they are able to give you both the support you need as you go through this. Hopefully, the wait won't be long and this cycle will be successful! Thinking of you..

All the best to you! I'm glad you're making this move, and I think you will find it freeing to be able to just get it out in the open. You might find that your family will be more supportive than you could have ever imagined. I certainly hope that is the case for you and your husband.

Good luck--I think you will find it's much easier when everyone knows.
